Additional information
Usually, background’s functionality is only an aesthetic one so I decided to change this and create my own personal wallpaper for Android devices using Processing. Since I am an individual that likes organitzation, planning and clockwork related stuff (gears and all that) I merged all those ideas and came up with this mechanical steampunk design. I also provided a digital time and date format because it is useful.
Instructions
- Download Live Wallpaper
- Download and install Processing
- Open the project throught the editor or double click the .pde file
- If you get the error: displayDensity cannot be resolved to a variable
- Java (top right) > Add Mode
- Install Android Mode
- Close all the windows
- Change mode to Android at the top right
- You will be asked to locate to download or locate a SDK platform with an API X
- Choose whatever method you prefer (Android Studio way recommended)
- Complete all the setup process (steps may differ for each method and operating system)
- Now the only step left is to be able to use the project in our Android phone
- Enable USB Debugging in your phone
- (Windows only) Install OEM USB Drivers
- Restart your PC
- Connect your Android phone to your PC using a USB cable
- Open the project once again
- Run the program (might take a few minutes)
- Establish the project as the current wallpaper in your Android
- Read the message in Wallpaper.pde
- Apply all necessary measures
- The wallpaper should now be fully functional
Feel free to customize the wallpaper if you know how to code. You could for example add an audio to the wallpaper like this one.
